The manga-ka

Birthdate: May 23, 1976 (Gemini)
Birthplace: Kumamoto, Japan
Bloodtype: B

All her works are shoujo and tend to deal with school life, drama, romance, supernatural, being published by Hakusensha and seralised in LaLa/Lala DX. Her debut was Akaku Saku Koe. A great portion of her works are one-shots too. Currently, Midorikawa is working on Natsume Yuujinchou which has recently been adapted into an anime. It is also her most successful series, having been one of the 12 titles nominated for the 1st ever Manga Taisho Awards (a pity it didn't win).

The style

This is all my personal opinion, though I do hope most of you feel the same way! Midorikawa may not have the fanciest style (most elaborate/detailed eyes/costumes for example) but she has a unique one. Her lines are clean and her style is simple but to the point. Her story-telling is sweet and her endings are 'perfect' despite not being the happiest. Midorikawa uses a 'common' setting to create a not-so-ordinary story. The number of poignant and touching moments in all her stories are numerous.

For me, this woman delivers her message straight to your heart.
